Hola! I am Daniel Morales, a user experience and visual designer of digital services. Currently working as a senior designer at Futurice in Helsinki, Finland.
Over the years, I have been orbiting around different fields such as product design, interior architecture, city design, animation, film, industrial design, photography and sustainable design. It's been a learning journey across 6 countries with endless experiences. From activating life in urban environments, crafting stories worth telling, to designing meaningful products and services, they all intersect with a strong purpose to make things better for people.
More recently, I have been focused on designing digital experiences for people to love. It is a fast-moving field where I have reinvented myself a few times. I am currently very interested in data science from a design point of view, and the design of accessible and inclusive digital services.
What I love doing
I have always been interested in learning how things work. As a kid, I broke an endless number of toys and electronics into parts to understand them, but more often than not, I failed to put them back together. As a grown-up I keep highly curious in order to solve problems and to fix things.
From working in the animation industry to diving into cinematography, I have enjoyed communicating ideas through good stories. For that matter, my design process is heavily supported by storytelling principles.
When moving around the world, bikes have been my closest companion. They have shown me various sides of urban life and taken me to extraordinary places. Cycling to me goes beyond passion and discovery – it is a lifestyle.
